Brown and Dr. Spillman and Julie are some of the few practitioners in Charlottesville who focus on
the posture and exercise guidelines of Robin McKenzie, a New Zealand
Physical Therapist. While not helpful in all cases, the McKenzie technique
provides correction of the effects of too much sitting and too much
bending major contributors to both low back pain and neck pain. These exercises are often helpful in treating both disc related low back pain and sciatica. McKenzie exercises are also helpful with neck and arm pain.
We integrate the McKenzie approach with chiropractic treatment
and physical therapy to effectively treat many chronic neck and back conditions.
